The lakes and rivers that Alaska Adventures operate bear viewing tours on have enough fishing opportunities to keep a humble angler busy for a lifetime. Set up your camera gear at the confluence of two of the most prolific trout rivers in the state or jet boat to a river tucked way back on a remote mountain lake and throw out a line while you wait for the perfect picture of momma bear and cubs walking up the river edge.

Fly Fishing Trips

There is a place in Southwest Alaska in the heart of Katmai National Park where a river flows. Traveling to our bear viewing Mecca on the banks of the Alagnak River, fly-fishing enthusiasts have the opportunity to fish world-class rated waters. Make sure you have your knots tied tight and extra backing on that reel because trout as large as 30 plus inches are caught every week. Anglers have the chance to use both light and heavy fly fishing rods to target 10 different species of fish. Go up to “Grayling Central” and cast a number 12 natural caddis to rising Arctic Grayling and get enough top water action in 20 minutes to last you a lifetime. Jet boat over to the “Char Hole” and show your guide that long downstream extended drift you have perfected over the years and hook into some Char and monster Rainbows. We have made peoples dreams come true, helping them to hook and land 50 pound King Salmon on fly rods and would love to do the same for you. All of our professional guides are exceptional casting instructors and the Alagnak River is a great environment which to cultivate a love for the sport. Beginning fly fishing students will be given dry land casting clinics and quickly be put in situations to practice setting the hook and managing the fly line and rod to land fish within 40 minutes of your very first cast.
