Valley Of 10,000 Smokes
The largest volcanic explosion of the 20th
century formed this valley where ash/pumice cover the now barren landscape where
glacier fed rivers cut through it like butter. The cataclysmic eruption of the
Novarupta Volcano of 1912 forever changed this landscape of towering mountains,
glaciers, and valleys into one of the most amazing spectacles of our time. Visit
the valley tour by boarding the katmai van that will
transport you to this area whose name was given from the many steam vents once
found here preceding the eruption.
Guest's that book a 5 or 7 day wildlife
cruise have the option of adding this tour on for $90 a day. Spend the day
hiking and touring the valley floor and then visiting Ukak River basin. This
trips leaves from brooks at 9am each morning.

Clients have the option of adding on a
$200 flight seeing tour that will fly them over the valley before they
land..
Visit the Ukak river and witness the
awesome art formed from the eruption. With extensive knowledge of this
area we also help our clients plan multi day hiking trips back into the valley.
With intimate knowledge of both the correct route,
river crossing positions, directions toward the eruption site, and
overnight/camping sites, our staff will help you plan on of the most epic multi
day hikes in the state. .
